President Trump frequently has spoken out against the censorship of conservative voices on social media, and now the White House has launched a website for Americans to share their stories.
The Gateway Pundit observed that the tech companies might be surprised by the number of Americans who add their names to the site.
“The tech giants are not just targeting popular conservative accounts, they are shadowbanning and censoring content from tens of thousands of influential conservative Americans,” the blog said.
Trump recently wrote on Twitter of his “surprise” to hear of Twitter’s bans of actor James Woods and journalist Paul Joseph Watson.
“I am continuing to monitor the censorship of AMERICAN CITIZENS on social media platforms,” he wrote.
“This is the United States of America — and we have what’s known as FREEDOM OF SPEECH! We are monitoring and watching, closely!!”
The new website’s splash page invites people to share their story with the president.
“SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS should advance FREEDOM OF SPEECH. Yet too many Americans have seen their accounts suspended, banned, or fraudulently reported for unclear “violations” of user policies,” it says.
“No matter your views, if you suspect political bias caused such an action to be taken against you, share your story with President Trump.”
